I did a post similar to this a while ago because something that one of my teachers did affect me and made my day. I appreciated what he had done.
So, this happened a few months ago. Well, more than that at this point... but you get what I mean. We were talking about something to do with criminal justice (since that was the class, obviously). He was talking about something, and Roe v. Wade came up since it applied to what he was talking about. At the end of class, he came up to me as I was leaving and asked me if what he had said was ok. He had asked that because he said that he remembered I had mentioned in one of the warm-ups during psychology, that I had said that I was a Christian. With me being a Christian, I’m not for Roe v. Wade and it just goes against some things that I believe. He had just mentioned it and said how it applied to what he was talking about for the class. He didn’t go into detail about it and said nothing besides facts about the court case. I thought little of it until he said something about it to me. It meant a lot that he remembered I had mentioned my faith AND that he had thought to come up and ask me if what he had said was ok with me. I just wish that we had more teachers like him. More teachers put in the effort to see if their students are doing ok. To come up to them and ask if they’re ok, or if something that they said was ok with them. Basically, any teachers that show they care. I know that there are a lot of teachers that care about their students. But the difference is that a lot of them don’t show it to them. Or maybe it’s just not in a way that would make the student’s day. After that, my mom said that I should get a thank-you card for him. I did that. I did that for three other teachers that I enjoyed being in their class. Just as students enjoy when teachers show that they care, teachers enjoy when their students show they care. Thank you, Mr. J, for being an amazing teacher!! I’m so glad that you were my teacher for two years. You’ve been amazing to me, and I appreciate everything that you’ve done for me :)
