Gaining motivation to do anything is hard. Even when it's something that is one of your favorite things to do in the whole wide world.
I was asked recently to list out my why as a writer. My reasoning to want to write. My reasoning to keep writing. My reasoning to write. I had just recently finished my first draft of the ONLY novel that I had ever finished (ok, maybe not exactly finished, but it's finished enough where I'm comfortable with going through the revision process. For the first time AHHHH) and having these motivational reasonings would help me to remotivate myself whenever the dreaded writer's block comes knocking at my door. 1. I write to share my gift that God has given me God gives everyone specific gifts to help them glorify His kingdom. Their specific gift is unique to them. I write clean, entertaining stories as my way to glorify His kingdom. I feel that God has given me the gift to write because I'm supposed to be glorifying His kingdom through the stories that I write. 2. I write to entertain people One of my big goals in life is to be able to help people. I want to help people through all the different aspects of my life and who I am. I help people through what I write and create. It's most likely not going to be in a way that is conventional (i.e. something directly that the reader could use to help them), but more in a way that is entertaining. I feel that entertaining people can help them just as much as something in a conventional way. 3. I write to express myself As most writers, I'm introverted. I'm more on the quiet side and don't really say all that much in person. However, I can talk so much over the internet. That goes with my writing. It is so much easier to express myself in writing than anything else. I have the freedom to do whatever I want. I can create whatever I want and it's so freeing to be able to do that. Those are my top three/the only three that I came up with right at this moment. It's actually ranked in a way that shows the "importance". I say that with quotation marks because all three of these points are important, but there are some that are a bit more important to me than others. We're also not gonna talk about that that was the order that I thought them of and wrote them down and they turned out to be the ones that I felt were in the right order of importance for me. I hope that this could help motivate others it could inspire someone to write their own why as a writer
