We as Christians, and even non-Christians, have heard of the most famous Bible verse: John 3:16. And if you've never heard of this verse, here is what it says For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. This verse is really famous for a reason. God sent His only son to save our lives from our sins. Our sins break us down and move us farther and farther away from our Father. This is really heartwarming for us believers. It's a reminder that our Father loves us and that He wants us to be like Him and wants us to have eternal life with Him Even though that is the correct meaning of the verse, it's really dangerous to not know the context of it and not know the deeper meaning of what this verse is talking about Spatial Disorientation: Spatial disorientation results in a person being unable to determine their position or relative motion, commonly occurring during periods of challenging visibility, since vision is the dominant sense for orientation Spatial disorientation is commonly seen in deep-sea divers and pilots in fog, snow, or even rain. It's when a person thinks that they're going one direction, but in actuality, they're going in another direction Some Christians think that if they just believe that Jesus is real and believe that He died for our sins that we're good. That they're going to go to heaven Friends, this is far from the truth. This is our spiritual disorientation. We think that we're going to heaven just by believing that Jesus was real, but we're really going to hell We can't just believe that He existed. Wouldn't that be the same as being agnostic? You believe that God is real, but you don't do anything about it? So, what does this verse actually mean? We need to believe that Jesus existed AND live for Him. My pastor gave this analogy when he preached this. You can't be sitting on a fence with one foot in your worldly life and your other foot in your spiritual life. It's an all or nothing sort of thing. You can either be fully in your worldly life or fully in your spiritual life And I'm not meaning you have to be perfect when you decide that you're going to be fully in your spiritual life. It just means that you're actively trying to live a more God-centered life. You're trying to reject temptations and acts of the world. The worldly things that reject God So, friends, please don't make this mistake. Don't mistake thinking that you're going up when in actuality, you're doing the opposite direction. Choose God. Choose to follow Him. Follow His ways. Don't follow the world's ways

For the most part, totally agreed. This post reminded me of some scriptures that go really well with what you said:
