Today marks the day that I'm officially an adult... by law. I don't really consider myself to be an adult. It feels weird to say. Like, "oh hey, I've been considered a child, and now I'm suddenly an adult." I can legally do a ton of things that I wasn't able to before. That is crazy to think about
It hasn't really set in. I don't think I've fully realized or even processed the fact that I am an adult. I don't think that it really will settle in for me until maybe graduation, or even in the fall whenever I start college. (As I'm currently writing this, which is 12:29 am, my hamster is running on his wheel, keeps banging against the glass of his enclosure... It's starting to get on my nerves XD). I think for my birthday post, I'm going to be listing fun facts about myself. It's been a few years since I put those list of facts about myself (my intro post). So, why not give you 18 fun facts about myself on my 18th birthday. That sounds fun, right? I'm going to try and give you some facts that you might not know about me, ie. things that I don't think I've ever mentioned on here before. If you're a reader that either knows me irl, or somewhere else and I've said some of these things before... I'm sorry. Get over it and read the rest of the facts XD That doesn't sound too harsh, right? This is most likely going to be harder than I thought, but here we go: 1. I work at a Panera Bread (if you don't know what this is, it's a "fast food" restaurant that sells sandwiches, soups, and salads. It's quite expensive for a fast food place). I've worked there for going on two years now, which is crazy to think about. June will be two years 2. I used to be really into gymnastics. I remember wanting to do gymnastics during one of the olympics years ago. I only had one lesson because at the time, my parents couldn't afford going there more than that one lesson. Was kind of sad about it, but I never really brough it up to them after that first lesson 3. When I first noticed that I had alopecia (not me, my mom :P), shortly after that, my sister knocked out one of my baby teeth with her foot. We were in the pool at my granparents house. That was quite a day 4. I've only ever moved once in my life, and that was when I was two years old. It wasn't a very big move XD it was from one place in Virginia to another place in the same state. So I've lived in Virginia my entire life, and I quite honestly have no intrest in moving out of it without some outside forces makes me do it. Like a job or something like that 5. One of the original things that I wanted to be when I grew up was to be a veterinarian. I remember one year whenever we were going camping with my grandparents, aunt and uncle, and cousins (all from my mom's side of the family), my siblings and cousins would play on the playground that was not that far from the campsite. While we were on the swings, we were talking about what we wanted to be when we grew up. I remember saying veterinarian because it was something that sounded fairly interesting and would've been cool. I wasn't really interested in it and that kind of died shortly after the end of the trip 6. Along with camping, one of the trips one year, was the first time that I was called pretty. I was on my own at the playground, and these two boys were on one of the other playground equipment. The younger of the two boys said something in spanish. The other one asked me if I knew spanish, and when I said no, he said that his brother said that I was pretty. I sometimes think back about it and wonder if he actually said something bad about me and his brother was pretty much just covering for him. I don't know, but it felt kind of nice 7. When I was little, I used to do ballet. I remember the last day quite vividly, sort of. I remember throwing a temper tantrum because I didn't want to do ballet anymore, and I remember my mom getting really mad at me and pulling me away from the studio. And then the next thing that I remember is being in the car, driving home, and I commented on how my hand was red and it stung XD I don't remember being spanked, but I sure did comment on it and I just laugh thinking back on that. I always wonder if I would still be doing ballet if I hadn't thrown that temper tantrum when I was younger 8. Speaking of dance, a few years ago, I wanted to do irish dance. I still do actually, but at the time, again, it was quite expensive and we couldn't afford doing it. I do still want to take classes with one of my sisters. That would be fun to do together 9. The song "Jar of Hearts" by Christina Perri is one of the few songs that I could never get tired of hearing no matter how many times I hear it. It's a song that I basically grew up listening. I remember when I was younger (like, when my youngest sister was in preschool, and she's four years younger than me), we used to all six of us go into one of our rooms before bed, listen to that song, pray as a family, and then go to bed. I don't remember why we ever stopped doing that. But from then on, that song had been in a special place in my heart. I have very fond memories associated with that song 10. On the flip side, there is one song that I absolutely don't like. I never knew what the title for that song was, but I instantly know what song it is just from hearing it. For each of my birthdays growing up, my grandmother would give me a figurine doll with a number on it. That number was the age that I was. The particular one had a doll from newborn all the way up until 16, so I stopped getting those dolls two years ago. Anyway, my mom used to get so mad whenever we would break one of them. I remember breaking the two year old doll. I remember being really scared, and the song that was playing while that was going on, was the song that I don't like. So every time I hear that song, those memories come back. I remember the fear that I had in that moment. That song has been coming on a lot recently, so I've been reminded of that event quite a bit recently Man, I still have eight more to go. I didn't think that coming up with 18 random facts about myself would be this hard. I mean, coming up with anything about yourself can be difficult, but man, this is taking a lot longer than what I had planned on it taking 11. I'm a little history nerd. I think my favorite time period would be the Victorian era. I actually remember the exact thing that got me into history. When I was in fifth grade, I remember towards the end of the year, there was this three part tv series on some children's television network. I don't remember what it was called, but it was basically these two boys travel back in time to the wild west. I don't remember why or what they were doing there, I just remember that. And then I became interested in the wild west and sort of history. I remember being annoyed because we had been learning about the wild west, and I had just become interested in it at the very end of the the unit. And I was like "why hadn't I became interested in it before" XD 12. I got baptized when I was 13 (June 10th, 2018) and it was actually in a river. At the time, my church didn't have their own building, so they couldn't have a baptism pool. So what they do is go to the nearest river and have a picnic. It was actually really cool. I'm glad that I got baptized in a river. I don't know, it makes it feel like I have something similar to what Jesus had when He was on earth. Because He was baptized in a river as well. It's not like it's important or anything, but I just find it kinda cool 13. I own two hamsters. I don't know what breed of hamster they are. I want to say that they are some kind of dwarf hamster because they are kinda small, but I'm not really sure. One of them is all black, and his name is Brioche. The other one is black and white and his name is Oreo. They are absolutely adorable, but very much so trouble makers 14. My favorite song is "This Town" by Niall Horan. Fun fact: I actually didn't know that he was from One Direction until like a while after it became my favorite song. I kid you not, I didn't know who all was in the band outside of Harry Styles, and I only know of him because of this one girl in third grade who was obsessed with him. Man was that a surprise 15. And my favorite singer is Shawn Mendes (I say that as one of his songs comes on the radio XD). I have no explanation on why I like his songs, I just do. I like his voice. I weirdly like men's singing voices better than womens. I used to think that I liked women't more, but I had the realization a few years ago that I liked the sound of men's voices better 16. Speaking of music, my favorite type is like late 2000's and early 2010's pop, I think. I like a lot of the songs that were popular during that time. Spotify says that I like heartbreak songs and like sad depressing songs. "Sad 10's" "!0's Love Songs", stuff like that 17. I wish that I could go back to when I was in 5th through 7th grade. Those were the best years in my life. My old next door neighbors still lived next to us and we used to play outside all day with them. (thinking back, how in the world did I not get sunburned in all the time that I was out there with them and yet I get burned by being outside for two hours at my sister's tennis match?!?!) We even used to do our school work outside with them, that's how much we spent time with them 18. I used to be homeschooled in 6th and 7th grade. Wait... I'm homeschooled this year... Don't judge me, it's almost 2 am and my brain isn't working, clearly. But besides this past year, I was homeschooled for those two years. And those two years were where I was homeschooled "properly". I had co-op and everything. Funny thing, one of my friends in one of the discord servers I'm in, asked the whole server who was homeschooled. She was giving all these stipulations, and I was kinda concerned if I didn't count (because I didn't know if she was meaning their whole life, or homeschooled at all). But I had brought up co-op and she just stopped me there saying that once I mentioned that word, I counted And there you go. 18 fun facts about myself. Took me a few hours, but I came up with them!! Whoop whoop!! Now that I'm 18, it's going to be weird. The things that I could do and all that. Life is changing and it's very weird. But it will be fun going into this next chapter of my life. Next is graduation, and that's in a couple of weeks
